“Chandra” refers to the Moon in Sanskrit and literally means "bright, shining or glittering"; a fitting name for these ethereal hoop earrings.* The design of our hoop was inspired by the legend of the Moon god who became too proud and, as a result, was banished by the other gods to remain in his crescent form. We were enthralled with the idea that even in its crescent form (reputed to be the lowliest), the moon’s brilliance is an all consuming force of strength and beauty.
